Quality of care in Timor Leste

As part of its efforts to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and stillbirths, Timor Leste is taking steps to improve the quality of maternal and newborn health. (Link to the quality of care internal page). These include:

  • Introduce and implement the WHO Labour Care Guide to monitor the delivery; the guide aims to support good-quality, evidence-based, respectful care during labour and childbirth.
  • Improve the quality of antenatal care, with a delivery plan for each mother.
