Quality of care in Lebanon

As part of its efforts to reduce maternal and newborn mortality and stillbirths, Lebanon is taking steps to improve the quality of maternal and newborn health.  These include:

  • Foster and strengthen new and existing partnerships with the private sector for the provision of quality maternal and newborn care
  • Establish a neonatal mortality and stillbirth audit system
  • Enhance access to midwifery-led care
  • Develop a community-based maternal and neonatal mortality reporting system.
  • Conduct research on respectful maternal care
