In May 2023,  during the International Maternal Newborn Health Conference (IMNHC) held in Cape Town,  and organized by Align MNH and partners, 29 country  delegations decided to develop MNH Acceleration Plans to reach the Every Woman Every Newborn Everywhere (previously ENAP EPMM) targets; another 14 countries have since expressed interest in starting that process.

Countries with an MNH Acceleration Plan

These Acceleration Plans detail the priority activities and required resources to boost maternal and newborn survival and the reduction of stillbirths.  They plans are a chance to get back on track towards the global targets for maternal mortality (SDG 3.1), newborn mortality (SDG 3.2) and stillbirths (Every Newborn Action Plan goal 2), and require all partners to work towards that:

The plans will be reviewed, renewed or updated by any emerging evidence until 2030.
